Cultural Heritage of Ghana - CAN 2008.

Did you know a country without culture is similar to a man without soul? And a person without soul is as good as a still-born baby? And a still-born baby is that entity which could not take in the 1st breath of life at birth? That first breath of life is the soul which is an element of the Almighty Creator Himself, without which, no human can survive? It reads : "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man changed into a living soul.

On Sun. , 20th Jan , 2008, the MTN 26th Africa Cup of Countries , dubbed Ghana 2008 kicked off in the capital town of Accra.

First of all, Ghana and essentially Africa must be proud that there are voters of the continent whose creativity is beyond imagination. Essentially, by the standards of Africa, Ghana isn't basically all that poor.

Still, that level of income does not support a flourishing gaming industry, so as we are saying, the list of Ghana's casinos is still quite short. For the second 2, the provincial ones, 21 and roulette, while the ones in the capital, Accra, also have poker tables.

While there are both gold mining and timber sales as industries in Ghana, most of the people and almost all of the economy relies on subsistence ( or peasant ) farming. This is one reason why the list of Ghana's casinos is so short. Another is that while there's a tourist industry, it is targeted at African-Americans coming to see their roots, taking a look at the slave forts, and so on along the coast. This actually is not a market that is known to bet a great deal.

In fact, for a lot of the area's history there have actually only been 2 exports : slaves ( The Ashanti Dominion was a prime source for the Arab slavers long before whites reached the area ), and gold : indeed, the country still boasts one of the biggest mines and gold corporations in the world, again named after the traditional dominion, Ashanti.

Gambling and casinos have historically done very well in mining areas, but this is changing as the business becomes more capital comprehensive : no longer are there armed forces of well-paid miners ripping at a hillside. Like the talking drums, horns serve as normal communication tool to send messages across folks in cities and hamlets. Again, symbolically, Ghana thru the opening rite was radiating Light, Life and like to all corners of the world.
